The Department of Paediatrics Nominations Committee was formed in March 2021 with the objective of increasing the local, national and international profile of the Department of Paediatrics, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, through the strategic promotion of our talented faculty.  This will enhance the academic profile and career development of our Paediatrics faculty at the University of Toronto and internationally.

Congratulations 2023 PCC Awardees!

Academic Leadership Clinician Investigator Award - Dr. Prakesh Shah

Dr. Shah is Paediatrician-in-Chief in the Department of Paediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital and Senior Clinician-Investigator at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, with a cross-appointment as a neonatologist in the Division of Neonatology at SickKids, and Professor of Paediatrics at Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.  His clinical and research focus is on improving the quality and outcomes of extremely preterm neonates.

Emerging Academic Leader Award - Dr. Peter Gill 

Dr. Gill is a Clinician-Investigator in the Division of Paediatric Medicine at SickKids and Associate Scientist in Child Health Evaluative Sciences at the SickKids Research Institute, and an Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.  His clinical areas of practice are paediatric inpatient care and outpatient consultant general paediatrics.  His research focuses on improving the care and outcomes for hospitalized children in the general paediatric setting.
